Hyperallergic is a forum for serious, playful, and radical thinking about visual art. Combining the best of art blog and magazine culture, the Hyperallergic blogazine focuses on publishing quality writing and images from informed and provocative perspectives. Edited by Hrag Vartanian, Hyperallergic also publishes a semi-annual journal and hosts monthly arts events at its offices in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.

Created and edited by Christopher Jobson, Colossal explores the intersection of art, design, and physical craft and inspires artists, creators, and art fans all around the world. Colossal has been frequently cited by leading online publications, including Juxtapoz Magazine, Gizmodo, Boing Boing, Slashdot, and Designboom and has been praised as a “top-notch visual art/design blog” by one of the world’s most influential bloggers, Jason Kottke.

Awarded the first Creative Capital grant for blogging in 2009, Art Fag City covers contemporary art made in New York City with a particular focus on new media and emerging artists through a mix of art reviews, news, and culture commentary. Created and written by Paddy Johnson, AFC also featured many influential columns (IMG MGT) and opinions that are critical to any understanding of the New York art world.

Rhizome, an affiliate of the New Museum, features original coverage of new media exhibitions, festivals, and projects that explore the intersection of art and technology. Rhizome draws attention to artists, their work, their perspectives and the complex interrelationships between technology, art and culture.

Maintained by painter and cultural writer Sharon Butler, Two Coats of Paint reviews, reports and comments on contemporary painting and related subjects. In continuous operation since the spring of 2007, Two Coats is widely read in the art community, was named one of the top art blogs by the Courtauld Institute in London, and has received a Mindshare Award for visual arts blog excellence.
