The Brooklyn Museum has been spreading the word, with our publishers help, about their upcoming community-curated open studio project, GO. Artists across Brooklyn will open their studio doors, so that the public can decide who will be featured in a group show at the Brooklyn Museum.
The open studios will be held on September 8th and 9th. Community members will register to vote in order to participate in the judging process. During the weekend, voters will visit the participating artist’s studios and check in by texting, or using the GO app or GO mobile site. After checking in to at least five studios they are able to vote for up to three artists to be included in the show.
The ten artists with the most votes will receive visits from Brooklyn Museum curators. From those ten, two or more will be chosen to have their work exhibited as part of a group show at the museum in December.
Brooklyn Museum’s borough-wide initiative is sure to be a fun and interactive project. Nectar Ads and our publishers are happy to have a part in getting the word out to the Brooklyn community about this exciting open studio project.
